Singapore Airlines partners with Tata Communications to enhance…

Singapore and Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Singapore Airlines partners with Tata Communications to enhance customer experience for their discerning customers.

Tata Communications, a global digital ecosystem enabler and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA), the national carrier of Singapore, announced a multi-year agreement to aimed at enhancing employee productivity and user experience through a transformation of the airline’s communications and collaboration tools to enhance employee productivity and boost user experience.

The partnership builds on a long-standing association between Singapore Airlines and Tata Communications. According to the company, this advancement enables users of SIA to connect and collaborate on a global scale.

Amitabh Sarkar, Vice-president and head of the Asia-Pacific and Japan – Enterprise, Tata Communications said they take great pride in our long-standing relationship with Singapore Airlines. He also went on to state that as a global comm-tech player, they were privileged to be chosen as their partner in progress, as they emerge stronger than ever and endeavor to create new benchmarks in customer experiences.

The shares however, were down by 1.35 per cent at Rs 1,714.15 at 2.10 pm on the BSE.

The company said in the statement that SIA and Tata Communications have had a successful, long-standing association that has been strengthened over several years. This new transformative initiative delivered on Tata Communications GlobalRapide platform enables Singapore Airlines users to be connected and collaborative anytime and anywhere globally.   

Tata Communications said it had been working with SIA for the last five years and in addition to the above solutions, Tata Communications IZOTM SDWAN also enables SIA with intelligent customer call routing to their international customer service centres, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Additionally, SIA pilot and cabin crew collaboration platforms are additionally powered by Tata Communications MOVE enabling a global and always connected experience to the crew.

The company said that MOVE global intelligent cellular connectivity facilitates a swift and secure exchange of critical flight and passenger data on pilots and crew tablets, leading to enhanced on-time performance and expedited flight turn-round while achieving significant cost savings compared to traditional data roaming solution.

South Australian Tourism Commission confirmed (08-Nov-2023) that Singapore Airlines plans to increase Singapore-Adelaide frequency from daily to 10 times weekly from Oct-2024. The increase is expected to create 105,000 seats between the destinations p/a. Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison stated that “It is essential that we continue to strengthen our relationships with leading airline providers and pursue new opportunities for South Australia to increase number of flights, secure new airlines, and reinstate flights that link South Australia with key tourism markets interstate and international business hubs”. Eight international airlines presently operate 45 flights each week to Adelaide, with additional capacity already confirmed for the coming months. The international incoming flights are at present bringing just over 11,000 passengers per week into South Australia.
