South Korea reports 384 more COVID-19 cases, 102,141 in total

In the past 24 hours many countries across the world has seen a rise of their Covid positive numbers. This could be that there virus is still highly active and contagious or that the countries are testing and sampling on a more regular basis. The latest country to see a spike in their Covid positive cases has been South Korea. The country reported 384 more cases in the last 24 hours which now has raised their total number of Covid positive cases to 102,141.

The new number of cases is definitely lower than what was reported the previous day. This was the first time in six days that South Korea had fallen below the 400 patients a day line. The country has been conducting testing and sampling to find how many of its people have the virus so that quick action and decisions could be made. 

In South Korea the daily number of infection found while testing has been above 100 since the 8th of November 2020. This is because the cluster infections in Seoul and also its surrounding Gyeonggi province as well as imported cases. Of the new found cases 105 of them were Seoul residents and another 130 were people who were residents from the Gyeonggi Province. 14 cases were from the imported overseas cluster, which has now lifted the combined figure to 7,559.

There were four more death that were reported which now leaves the death toll at a total of 1,726 which leaves the total fatality rate at 1.69%. A total of 269 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 94,124. The total recovery rate was 92.15 percent.

The country has tested more than 7.61 million people, among whom 7,435,252 tested negative for the virus and 78,938 are being checked. Since the mass vaccination was launched on Feb. 26, the country has administered COVID-19 vaccines to a total of 793,966 people with 5,232 fully vaccinated.
