Today, His Highness Sheikh Saoud bin Faisal bin Sultan Al Qassimi of the Sharjah ruling family and Chairman-designate of the Commonwealth Blockchain Network—one of the independently funded verticals established to promote business networks within the Commonwealth—is launching the community token $CWU.

The Commonwealth Blockchain Network was launched last July in Sharjah and was attended by the former UK Trade Minister; the Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom, representing the British Ambassador; H.R.H. the Ashanti Prince of Ghana; a former Pakistani Minister and the Governor of Punjab; the Chairman of the Commonwealth Digital Financiers Network; and other distinguished guests from Japan, Africa, UK, Türkiye, China, Canada, and Central Europe.

One of the objectives of the Commonwealth Blockchain Network was to launch a Commonwealth Community token. Prior to that, His Highness Sheikh Saoud decided to launch a community token.

The Commonwealth Blockchain Network’s token will be accessible in each of the 56 Commonwealth countries, as well as the MENA 7 countries. It is designed to bring the Peoples of the Commonwealth together by giving them something that unites them and touches their daily lives.

Speaking in Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Saoud, the Chairman-Designate, said, “As President of the Commonwealth Blockchain Network, I believe the next era of global trade will be built on networks that connects people, not just institutions.”
