Sri Lanka_ Veteran Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan while hosting the Indian adaptation of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire franchise, offered a Sri Lankan herbal drink named ‘Samahan’ to a participant who appeared to have a continuous cough on the show. The ‘Kaun Banega Crorepathi’ (KBC) host first offered the lady a glass of hot water while also recommending Samahan; a herbal tea known to combat flu-like symptoms including cough and common cold.
“You seem to have a contagious cough; could I offer you a glass of hot water?” Bachchan asked while also questioning if the lady had heard about a product named ‘Samahan’ before. The lady in the audience seemed to be unable to reply but gratefully nodded in response to the offer. The Bollywood superstar then promptly presented the lady with a glass of Samahan herbal tea that she claimed instantly helped to soothe her incessant cough.
