Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ The World Congress of Ukrainians has reported a remarkable surge in turnout for rallies in solidarity with Ukraine on February 24, marking the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Among the attendees at these rallies were members of the Ukrainian diaspora and recent refugees displaced by Russia’s conflict, with the gatherings meticulously documented on an interactive map co-developed by the World Congress of Ukrainians (WUC) and Ukrainian Truth, illustrating a collaborative effort to raise awareness and mobilize support for the cause.

The most noteworthy assemblies took place in Germany, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian World Congress, delivered a compelling speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., an emblematic representation of American democracy, further emphasizing the global resonance of the Ukrainian cause.

Addressing the crowd, Grod emphasized the urgent need for the international community to support Ukraine with essential resources to counter the aggression. He called for increased supply of weapons and ammunition, as well as the implementation of stricter sanctions and the seizure of Russian assets, stressing the necessity for Russia to be held accountable for its actions.

In a different geographical context, Prague witnessed Czech President Petr Pavel taking the helm of a substantial initiative in support of Ukraine, while simultaneously, in Brussels, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders stood shoulder to shoulder with demonstrators at a peaceful rally, amplifying the resonance of global solidarity towards crucial endeavors.

From the icy wilderness of Antarctica, members of the 28th Ukrainian Antarctic expedition expressed their unwavering support through a heartfelt video message, accentuating the global reach and solidarity of the movement advocating for Ukraine’s sovereignty and security. Despite the remoteness of their location, their message resonated deeply, emphasizing the breadth of support spanning across continents. This remarkable display underscores the profound impact of collective action, transcending geographical barriers to stand in unison with Ukraine. Such gestures underscore the interconnectedness of humanity in the face of shared values and the universal pursuit of justice and freedom.
