Sudan’s Political Forces Distribute Portfolios in Future Government – Coalition

According to Al-Tijani Mustafa, a senior member of the Forces Freedom and Change (FFC) alliance, political forces in Sudan have arrived at an agreement on the structure of the new transitional government. Mustafa conveyed this to Sputnik on Monday.

“The important ministerial portfolios were distributed among concrete political forces, such as the National Uma Party and the Revolutionary Front,” Mustafa said. Umma, which used to be in opposition to the government of ex-president Omar Bashir, will get four seats in the new government, including the ministries of foreign affairs and energy, while the Revolutionary Front will get seven seats, according to Mustafa.

According to Mustafa, the Revolutionary Front will be given 7 seas while  Umma who was  in the opposition of government of ex-president Omar Bashir is due to get 4 seats including the foreign affairs and energy ministries in the new government. The FFC members announced that the Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok will retain the occupant ministers of irrigation, justice and religious affairs in the new cabinet.

The contenders for the portfolios of the interior and defense ministries will be put forward by the Sudanese Military. It is reported that the final appointments of the new cabinet is expected to announce on Thursday.
