It is a biopic on transgender activist and Sai Savli Foundation Trust trustee Shreegauri Sawant. She has selflessly taken care of those affected with HIV/AIDS. In the film Taali, Sushmita Sen plays the main character. She revealed her first look as transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant in a latest Instagram post. Her appearance was described as bold, strong, and ferocious. The picture features Sushmita Sen in a green saree and a crimson blouse. The large red bindi accentuates the entire appearance.
Sushmita Sen shared the poster and remarked how proud and thankful she is for portraying this wonderful person, Shreegauri Sawant. Expressing her pride, she penned her emotions. She wrote: “Taali – Bajaungi nahi, bajwaungi. First look as Shreegauri Sawant. Nothing makes me prouder and more grateful than to have the privilege of portraying this beautiful person and of bringing her story to the world. Here’s to life and to everyone’s right to live it with dignity! I love you guys!”. She also added some hashtags regarding the update about the film. The hashtags are “currently filming”, “Taali”, “Shreegauri Sawant”, and “biopic”.
Sushmita Sen’s family gave a shout out for her role in the film. They expressed their pride over her newest accomplishment. Her elder daughter Renee Sen commented: “Maa (red heart icons), so so so proud of you. Dugga Dugga. I love you the mostest.” Charu Asopa, Sushnita’s sister-in-law, expressed her excitement in a comment. She penned, “Wowww… The first look is awesome…So proud of you, didi. Looking forward… love you, Didi.” Additionally, director Ravi Jadhav left some red heart emojis in the comments area.
The first look of Sushmita Sen as Shreegauri Sawant was adored by many fans. They commented “queen” and “tiger” in the comments box to express their excitement for the film. Kshitij Patwardhan did the script writing and Ravi Jadhav helmed the film Taali. Kartk D Nishandar, Arjun Singgh Baran, and Afeefa Nadiadwala Sayed are producing the film. The movie will be released on Voot Select. The release date of the film is yet to be revealed.
