‘Made in UP’: The UP government to promote private industrial parks

-

India (Commonwealth Union)_Under the ambitious “Make in UP” concept, the Uttar Pradesh government would support the development of private industrial parks in the state. To get the greatest benefits from rapid connection, these parks would be made available near state expressways and freight lines. Draft New UP Industrial Policy 2022 states that the state would offer a variety of incentives to private industrial parks, particularly in the underdeveloped Purvanchal (Eastern UP) and Bundelkhand regions.

The proposed strategy intends to make the United Provinces an attractive investment location on a global scale, creating jobs and fostering sustainable economic growth. To promote a competitive industrial environment and help UP reach a trillion-dollar economy over the next five years, the state administration has adopted a comprehensive strategy. The draft policy suggests creating an industrial land bank and integrated manufacturing clusters, and it is about to be approved by the state Cabinet. We will strengthen the Land Pooling Policy 2020 to support the establishment of a land bank. The proactive administration and “doing business” climate, according to UP Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner Arvind Kumar, have made UP one of India’s fastest-growing economies and a favored location for industrial investments.

To speed up the acquisition of industrial property, the policy provides hassle-free licensing for land purchases made by private developers and accelerated site allotment for high-end investment projects. With the help of these policies, the state of Uttar Pradesh is anticipated to industrialize sustainably and in a way that is both balanced and conducive to the “Make in UP” promotion. In the meanwhile, the government will create industry-specific parks and clusters, such as IT parks, medical device parks, textile parks, toy parks, and parks for food processing, using a variety of formats, including public-private partnerships.
