Sustainable Education – How well would it do

Share

ISLAMABAD PAKISTAN – Education has been on everyone’s mind lately and since the pandemic the education system still has not reached normalcy. What it did teach us was that you can educate anyone from anywhere as long there is the right equipment provided for it.

But there has also been talk of sustainable education. In countries like Pakistan where it is still a developing country sustainable education would do well. The United Nations did pass a resolution a while back about sustainable development goals and, in this resolution, there was talk of sustainable education.

Pakistan has shown commitment and growth in the areas of sustainable growth and they started early as 2016. Now 6 years in their sustainable education programmes have grown from strength to strength. The youth of Pakistan have grown in this system are also benefiting from it. However, it is to be mentioned that Pakistan along with the world has experienced numerous socio-economic changes, especially during 2019 -2020 with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The presentation made by the government show cased the facts and figures of this programme.  the official voluntary national review (VNR) at the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York on July 17, 2022, shows progress on the 2030 Agenda. The VNR preparation process was led by the federal government. The Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives (MoPD&SI), steered the whole process of the VNR preparation.

There is a better future with sustainable education where the goal is to make sure education can be received by anyone from anywhere. The Pakistan government has been doing a really good job even after the pandemic in keeping the students engaged.
