She faces competition from Alan Lefebvre, a former president of the State Bar of Nevada. Her parents, who opened the first Indian restaurant in West Los Angeles, instilled in her the values of hard work and perseverance. Talim hopes to pass these values on to her 17-year-old twin daughters, who aspire to careers in medicine. She remains hopeful that they, too, will break barriers in their chosen fields.
