The US honors the Indian-origin CEO with the Lifetime Achievement Award!

CALIFORNIA (CU)_ US President Joe Biden honored Indian-origin Vivek Lall, General Atomics CEO, with the Lifetime Achievement Award, accompanied by the citation ‘With Grateful Recognition’. AmeriCorps and the White House presented the award to Lall, who holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in Kansas. According to the official release, the President of the United States also signed it personally.

AmeriCorps is a government organization. The organization works to promote initiatives that unifies Americans closer together. Dr. Lall, an industrial tycoon and titan in the scientific world, is the Chief Executive Officer of General Atomics. The business has produced advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) such as the Predator, Reaper, and Guardian drones, and is a world leader in specific sectors of nuclear technology.

Lall, the son of an Indian Ambassador, was one of the few Indian-origin officials who were allowed to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Washington visit last year. Dr. Lall served at NASA, Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin prior to his leadership role at General Atomics. His experience and achievements have been deemed unrivaled by several members of the scientific community and long-time industry observers. He is a member of the United States Technical Team for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Science and Technology (STO) with the Pentagon.

In 2018, he was nominated to a key advisory position for the US Cabinet Secretary overseeing the Department of Transportation, which includes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Lall was also named as a Distinguished Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, an Indian think tank. He is the chairman of The Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India’s Defense Committee (ASSOCHAM). The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce selected Dr. Lall as the Chairman of the Indo-US Strategic Dialogue in August 2011.
