Tinder Will Soon Let You Run a Background Check on Your Date

The world of online dating has its perks as well as its cons. whilst it would be fun do discuss the perks it is more important to discuss the cons. The one major problem of online dating is that you don’t really the person you are speaking to know. Yes it is the point of getting to know someone but the problem posed is you don’t not know if the person speaking to you is the person that is seen in the picture for as technology advances it is easy enough to use someone else’s photo on a dating profile to meet new people. Information can be misused to misdirect people and for this reason it is always good to be careful when using online dating apps such as tinder.

However if tinder is your choice of poison in the difficult world of dating you are in for some good news. The company that owns the app which is called the Match Group has made an announcement that that they will be investing in Garbo which is a known nonprofit organization that assists people in running background checks on others using their first name and a phone number.

What does this mean for Tinder users? This ideally means that Tinder users will be able to run a very basic but yet important background check on a potential date. What Garbo does is they will pull from publicly available data bases and other available data bases which would also include things such as reports of any criminal activity like violence or abuse related incidences, arrests, restraining orders, and so on. This is the kind of information that will help one make a decision if the date is worth it or not.

The catch to this is that this service will not be free as Tinder is expected to sell the service but it is still not too clear as to how it would be sold if it would be an ala carte service or if there will be some sort of subscription plan.
