Africa (Commonwealth Union) _ President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reiterated his administration’s unyielding determination to restore peace, security, and order to Nigeria, especially in communities ravaged by the life-changing impacts of banditry and violence.
Transmitting this message through National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, the president addressed residents of Kaduna State at the launch of new housing units built for victims of violence who had been displaced. Through the benevolence of a partnership with the Qatar Charity Organisation, the project to construct housing is part of a broader effort to reunite communities that were torn apart by insecurity.
“Nigeria is in safe hands,” the president declared. “We will restore law and order. This is our pledge, and we will stick to it.”
Mr. Tinubu praised the new face of security in Kaduna, citing a shift towards peace and stability that is rekindling public confidence. It was an atmosphere of “fresh air,” he said, suggesting the gentle but certain reversal of once-restive areas.
To the victims of brutality, the president acknowledged their suffering and assured them that the government sympathizes with them and commits its assistance. “We’ve heard your laments. You have endured unimagined suffering, but you are not forgotten. We stand with you,” he vowed.
Aside from promises, Mr Tinubu commended Kaduna state leadership, the office of the NSA, and the military command for their synergy. Their success, he continued, is a strategic mix of kinetic and non-kinetic operations, blending force with negotiation and engagement among the people.
He especially praised the innovative Kaduna Peace Model, a grassroots, intelligence-led process that emphasizes reconciliation, inclusion, and sustainable stability. Signs of encouraging trends, he said, are the return to life of previously deserted places like Birnin Gwari Market and the reoccupation of farms.
“This is not home rebuilding it’s rebuilding lives and restoring dignity,” Mr Tinubu said. “Kaduna is being reborn, a face of recovery and renewal.”
The president also expressed gratitude for Qatar Charity’s humanitarian efforts and reiterated his government’s commitment to usher in meaningful, lasting change.
The struggle against terror remains one of our greatest challenges,” Mr Tinubu stated, “but we will confront it face-to-face. Bringing back peace is not just our wish — it’s our responsibility.”.
