These women are redefining gender stereotypes and the workplace culture, thereby motivating others to assume similar roles. The following is a list of Indian women CEOs who are presently managing the global workforce in a variety of industries. These five Indian-American women have climbed their way to the top of the business world, inspiring millions of women across the globe.
Shar Dubey
Indian American Sharmistha Dubey, 51, is the chief executive officer of Match Group, a $40 billion technology conglomerate that controls and administers multiple online dating applications, including Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, and PlentyOfFish. She was born and raised in Jamshedpur, and her introversion made her a sharp observer of human behavior. This was useful when she entered the Match Group nearly fifteen years ago and subsequently became its CEO in 2020. She graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s in engineering and her master’s degree from Ohio State University. From March 2020 to May 2022, Shar Dubey led the Match Group, Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, and Match.com. They all belong to the same company.
Anjali Sud
Indian American Anjali Sud became Vimeo’s CEO in 2017. She transformed the company into a software provider for video creators. Vimeo, which had previously invested in original content, began to expand its creator tools. Anjali Sud was born and raised in Michigan, and her parents are native Indians. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. In 2018, Anjali Sud was named in Forbes’ 40 Under 40 list. Further, she transformed Vimeo from a failing competitor to Netflix and YouTube into the go-to company for video editing software.
Revathi Advaiti
Indian American Revathi Advaithi, 54, is the chief executive officer of Flex, one of the leading manufacturing corporations and global supply chains in the world. She was elevated to the position of chief executive officer in February 2019 and has since been overseeing the strategic direction and technological innovation of the company. Advaithi also serves as an independent director on the boards of Uber and Catalyst.org. She also serves on the Presidential CEO Advisory Commission of MIT. Revathi Advaithi assumed leadership of Flex, the world’s third largest electronic design and manufacturing company, in 2019. Flex manufactures components for electronic devices.
Jayshree Ullal
Since 2008, Indian American Jayshree Ullal has served as president and chief executive officer of Arista Networks, a computer networking company, making her one of the 72 self-made women billionaires in the globe. Ullal was born in England and raised in New Delhi. She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in engineering from Santa Clara University. Ullal has previously served at Fairchild Semiconductor, Cisco, and AMD. Jayshree Ullall was named one of Barron’s World’s Top CEOs in 2018.
Padmasree Warrior
Indian American Padmasree Warrior, one of the most influential women in technology, is the founder and chief executive officer of Fable. The company was established in 2019 and functions as a platform for reading and provides a social experience with stories that promote mental health. She was also the Chief Technology Officer of Cisco and Motorola and the CEO of NIO USA, a rival electric vehicle manufacturer to Tesla. Warrior was born and raised in Vijayawada and hails from a Telugu family. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT Delhi and a master’s degree from Cornell University. Padmasree Warrior shifted her concentration to paper after holding leadership positions at technology firms like Cisco and Motorola. Warrior is the chief executive officer of Fable, a social media platform that enables book enthusiasts to read together.
