WASHINGTON D.C., USA (CWBN)_ US President Donald Trump continued issuing Presidential pardons and commutations for his allies on Wednesday (December 23) after issuing 19 pardon/commutations on Tuesday (December 22). It is widely believed that these pardons will not be the last to be issued by the outgoing president.

Among those pardoned on Wednesday is Charles Kushner, father of President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. In 2004 Kushner Snr pleaded guilty for making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, witness tampering, and tax evasion.“President Trump granted a full pardon to Charles Kushner.  Former United States Attorney for the District of Utah Brett Tolman and the American Conservative Union’s Matt Schlapp and David Safavian support a pardon of Mr. Kushner.  Since completing his sentence in 2006, Mr. Kushner has been devoted to important philanthropic organizations and causes, such as Saint Barnabas Medical Center and United Cerebral Palsy. This record of reform and charity overshadows Mr. Kushner’s conviction and 2 year sentence for preparing false tax returns, witness retaliation, and making false statements to the FEC,” an official statement from US Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said.

President Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was also pardoned. In 2018 Manafort was convicted of committing financial fraud and conspiring to obstruct the investigation of his crimes. Longtime friend and advisor to President Trump Roger Stone received an upgrade of his commutation to a full pardon on Wednesday. Stone was convicted for lying to Congress about attempting to contact Wikileaks in relation to the damaging emails about Hillary Cliton (President Trump’s 2016 presidential election rival) released by the website.

US media reports that inside sources have confirmed that President Trump is looking to pardon more allies and is requesting that people submit names for consideration.
