Mumbai, India (CU)_ Our ancestors including grandmothers and moms followed a list of home cures for colds and flu during the winter. As the temperature decreases, our bodies respond in a variety of ways, resulting in feeling ill with colds, coughs, and other common sicknesses. During this time, our grandparents and mothers would feed us foods including ginger, honey, or lemon for their curative virtues. Therefore, to clear your sore throat or as a cough treatment, chef Pankaj Bhadouria offers a preparation using ginger, honey, and lemon drops.
Ginger-honey-lemon drop is an easy recipe to make at home. The required ingredients are the following: 1 piece of ginger, 1 lemon, 12 cups of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of honey. To prepare this recipe, first grate some ginger and press the juice through a strainer. It should be set aside. Then lightly grease a dish with oil and set it aside. Preheat a pan. Add approximately half a cup of sugar and stir constantly until it melts. Turn off the heat source.
Now, mix nearly 2 teaspoons of the extracted ginger juice with an equal quantity of honey and around 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix them thoroughly. Then, spoonfuls of the prepared mixture should be dropped individually on the oiled plate. After a while, the drops will be solidified. Similar to toffees, they can be packaged using a transparent covering.
Homemade dishes are clean, healthy and nutritious. Chef Pankaj Bhadouria occasionally provides such valuable dishes.
