Diaspora (Commonwealth Union) _ Two Indian-origin men, Kamal Bhula and Pragneshkumar “Pete” Patel, along with a third accused, Jonathan Craft, have pleaded guilty to serious drug and firearms charges in the United States. They were charged for running a drug trafficking operation from a motel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Patel, who served as the on-site manager of Best Choice Inn, leased the property to Bhula, who took over as the manager. Craft was involved in selling drugs from his room, facilitating others to do the same, and possessing illegal firearms. All three individuals have admitted to their involvement in these illegal activities, and their guilty pleas highlight the seriousness of the crimes committed. The legal proceedings for their sentencing are yet to be scheduled, and they could face significant prison terms as consequences for their actions.

Pragneshkumar “Pete” Patel, who served as the on-site manager of the Best Choice Inn, leased the property to Kamal Bhula, who later took over as the on-site manager. Meanwhile, Jonathan Craft lived and worked at the motel and engaged in drug-related activities. He sold drugs from his room, allowed others to do the same, and tolerated drug use on the premises. Additionally, Craft was found to be in possession of a firearm, which further compounded the seriousness of the charges against him.Both Bhula and Patel allowed drug trafficking at the motel and personally profited from those who used controlled substances on the premises. A federal grand jury indicted Bhula and Craft on June 20, 2019, and Patel on November 5,2019.
