US Election 2020: Indian-Origin Congressman Reelected to the US House for Third Term

       WASHINGTON DC, USA (CWBN)_ Indian-origin Democratic congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has won the race for US House for the third term. The 47-year-old Congressman was born in New Delhi and his parents are natives of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 2016.

       Raja Krishnamoorthi in his race to the US House easily defeated his challenger Preston Nelson of the Libertarian party. According to the last counting report, he had secured around 71 per cent of the total votes counted. This is his third consecutive victory in the race to the US House.

       In the mean time, other Indian-origin congressmen are also seeking victory in their race to House of Representatives from different states. The congressman Ami Bera is looking for his fifth consecutive victory from California. Ro Khanna is seeking his third consecutive term to the House of Representatives from California.

       Apart from this, the congresswoman Pramila Jayapal from Washington State is looking for her third consecutive term. Dr. Hiral Tipirneni is looking for her third consecutive attempt from the 6th congressional district of Arizona. Sri Kulkarni from the Democratic Party was giving tough competition to the Republican Party’s Troy Nehls from the 22nd congressional district of Texas.

       According to the recent counting, Republican Party’s Manga Anantamula was lagging by around fifteen per centage points against the Democratic competitor Gerry Connolly from the 11th congressional district of Virginia.

       Counting in Washington and California is still ongoing and the results will be announced in early hours.
