Wales (Commonweath Union)_ With an investment that will provide more than 80 new employment opportunities, Purolite has expanded its bioprocessing resin production facility in Llantrisant. The US company, which Ecolab purchased in a multi-billion dollar deal last year, said its new customer experience center, which measures 9,200 square feet, will treble capacity to satisfy the rising demand for biopharmaceutical goods throughout the world.

The extension includes more office space, training spaces, and conference room amenities. Compounds are extracted, purified, or separated using resins consisting of small beads called polite. From generating essential medications to decontaminating groundwater, they may be employed for a variety of purposes. Senior vice president and general manager of Purolite, Hayley Crowe, said: “The launch of our new customer experience center is another happy occasion for the Welsh Purolite team.”

Our site-wide facility development is tactically planned to assist in hastening our capacity to provide clients throughout the globe with high-quality resin products and quick lead times, enabling our customers to deliver life-saving pharmaceuticals more quickly. Having increased from 147 employees to 212 at its Llantrisant location in only one year, Purolite is presently hiring more than 80 new employees as a result of the growth. They consist of chemists, scientists, engineers, and people in the financial industry.

“We have ambitious plans in South Wales and now, more than ever, we are focused on supporting Wales’ extensive commercial potential, both by luring outside investment to the region and by assisting our employees in developing their careers and skills,” Chris Major, general manager of Purolite’s bioprocessing division, said.

MS for Pontypridd Mick Antoniw, said: “As the local MS, I am thrilled that Purolite is investing in its company, in our community, enabling worldwide customers to create life-saving drugs that cure illnesses ranging from cancer to rheumatoid arthritis.” Along with expansions at Purolite’s US location in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and investments at production facilities in China and Romania to help fulfill worldwide demand, the new center in Llantrisant is being built concurrently.
