NIGERIA (COMMONWEALTH UNION) – there has been bad news in Naira. There is a crisis in Naira which is turning the people into violent protesters. The protest that started out as peaceful have now turned violent. This caused the chain of events which made the banks close as the mobs were coming towards them.

The bank branches in Naira shut down in a hurry as the situation escalated with part of the country protest turning violent.

Ogun states had its first bank branch torched down a few hours ago as protesters in that area turned violent with the financial crisis taking place. As the first bank was being torched down the other banks moved fast to shut down and to get the staff to safety before the angry mobs came to attack them.

The Ogun State bank torching there was an attack and a man was shot. It is unclear if it were one of the protesters or if one of the protesters shot the bank employee.

Abeokuta was in a different state of panic as the state was thrown into a chaotic mess when angry youth go onto the main roads and blocked the road, set fires and even destroyed billboards. This was because the people of the county were angry as to the scarcity of the money in Naira.

Things don’t look good in Nigeria right now as the people are demanding answers and the government is not giving them the answers. It seems this carnage will continue till the people hear the truth form the government if not the states will continue to burn.

The government need to takes steps to make sure that foreigners in these areas are safe and have a safe passage to return to their home countries. The mobs are not happy and condition seems to only get worse.
