What is this confusion all about?

It hasn’t been an easy two years for the schooling systems around the world. With COVID 19 making sure that no one was safe from contracting the virus lives have come to a standstill. The one thing that has tried to go back to normal but couldn’t has been the schooling system. Education ministers around the world have been trying to make decisions that would make help the youth get an education and yet not be at risk of getting the disease.

There have been multiple methods used. Online classes, timetable schooling, cluster learning but nothing is coming out as the new normal as students are struggling not only to the fact of not being in a learning environment but also of the fact that they cannot cover the syllabus and stress of major exams.

It is the same in India, the Education minister is trying to make the best decision with the regards of having school open or having school closed. India is a developing country and most children probably do not have the facility of online learning. India also is Covid stricken to the point that people are scared to leave the house. But not this is not the case when GSSS Cemetery road was kept open and students were asked to attend. This school was opened a day after the Education minister had declared summer vacation for the schooling system.

The Principle of this school was spoken to he stated that “We have to distribute wheat to the parents and students. Also, some students, who are seeking admission for XI in private schools, wanted character certificate, four teachers and a few non-teaching staff have been asked to man the enrolment desk.”

Jagdeep Singh Johal who is the president of the Government Teachers Union in Vigyanik stated that Teachers are in confusion. Education minister has announced summer vacation but the education secretary is calling for other tasks. They should issue a statement so that there is no confusion. “The question here is what does the education department plan on doing, the answer came as they are planning on having a meeting with the parents and the teacher before the 31st of May. There will hopefully be some clarification on the matter then.
