Whats new with Yotta and its NVIDIA AI Collaboration

-

In a strategic move to revolutionize the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in India, Yotta Data Services has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with NVIDIA, a global leader in GPU technology. This partnership aims to deliver cutting-edge GPU computing infrastructure and platforms for Yotta’s Shakti Cloud platform, propelling the development of AI capabilities within the reach of diverse organizations, businesses, AI researchers, and startups across the country.

The collaboration centers around empowering Yotta’s customers with the ability to train large language models (LLMs) and cater to various AI workloads, addressing the escalating demands in not only the Indian market but also in the broader Asian and global markets. To achieve this, Yotta has placed a substantial order for NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, renowned for their prowess in handling AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads.

Yotta’s ambitious roadmap includes the operational deployment of 4096 GPUs by January 2024, escalating to a staggering 16,384 GPUs by June 2024. The company, demonstrating its commitment to advancing India’s sovereign AI landscape, plans to further amplify its GPU stable to an impressive 32,768 GPUs by the end of 2025. This significant expansion aims to meet the burgeoning demand for high-performance GPUs across research labs, enterprises, and startups engaged in HPC and AI workloads.

As a testament to the depth of collaboration, Yotta has achieved the distinction of becoming the first NVIDIA Partner Network cloud partner (NCP) in India, securing a coveted position as an Elite Partner on the global NCP list.

One of the key highlights of this collaboration is the deployment of an NVIDIA-powered reference architecture featuring NVIDIA InfiniBand networking. This configuration is poised to optimize GPU clusters, ensuring exceptional performance at scale for large AI training, inferencing workloads, and HPC applications.

Yotta’s Shakti Cloud AI platform is set to offer a comprehensive suite of Platform as a Service (PaaS) services from its inception. These include foundational AI models and applications designed to empower Indian enterprises in creating robust AI tools and products.

The deployment strategy involves the installation of the first cluster of 16,384 GPUs at NM1, Yotta’s acclaimed Uptime Tier-IV data center in Navi Mumbai, followed by a similar-sized cluster at D1, Yotta’s newest hyperscale data center in Greater Noida, near Delhi.

This collaboration aligns seamlessly with the ongoing surge in India’s AI adoption efforts, positioning the country as a hub for technological innovation, research, online gaming, and digital content creation. Projections indicate that AI adoption in India is poised to witness a compound annual growth rate exceeding 20%, reaching a substantial US$14 billion by 2030. Similarly, the Indian gaming industry is expected to surge to US$5 billion by 2025, further underscoring the reliance on GPU computing across these dynamic sectors.

Jay Puri, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at NVIDIA, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Our collaboration with Yotta will help open up access to the specialized infrastructure that makes AI possible at scale and bring GPU capabilities to customers in India, accelerating advancements in AI and fostering innovation across industries.”

The collaboration’s key highlights include the acceleration of AI compute capabilities in India, democratizing GPU power to businesses of all sizes, catalyzing breakthroughs in AI, gaming, scientific research, and data analytics, and disrupting traditional enterprise GPU computing access. Yotta’s Shakti Cloud, with NVIDIA technology at its core, aims to deliver GPU resources and associated AI and PaaS services in a cost-effective manner, utilizing a per-hour usage model with options for long-term reservations.

In conclusion, Yotta Data Services’ collaboration with NVIDIA marks a significant step forward in democratizing access to GPU resources, fostering innovation, and enhancing competitiveness across various sectors in India. Aligned with Yotta’s commitment to technological excellence and innovation, this collaboration is poised to accelerate digital transformation, positioning India as a global technology leader.
