Asia India (Commonwealth Union) – India has been rapidly advancing in recent times, and has officially overtaken China to become the country with the world’s largest population.

The future of science and technology in India is promising, as the country has been investing heavily in research and development to boost innovation and competitiveness in various fields. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) – India is already a hub for IT services and software development, but the future will see an increased focus on AI and ML. With initiatives like the National AI Strategy and the creation of AI institutes of excellence, India is set to become a major player in the AI industry.

In a speech titled “India’s global role once again in a changing world” delivered by the Honorable Nirj Deva, former MEP for South East England and MP in the British House of Commons as well as Publisher of the commonwealthunion.com website, Mr Deva gave a detailed account of India’s history and how significant its role will be in a rapidly changing world.

“In future the robustness of cyber security in India will become a paramount determinant of its global super power status.”

“This is a security architecture that must be installed now and not later. The same goes for expanding the merchant fleet and civil aviation fleet to avoid historical vulnerabilities that brought India crashing down 250 years ago after 1600 years of prosperity,” said Mr. Deva.

Mr. Nirj further encouraged the ending of hostilities between India and China and reminded the audience of the peaceful history between the 2 Asian giants.

He also gave his insights on the future potential the lies within India.

“By 2028, Indians are projected to hold twice as much private wealth as citizens of the UK or Germany, and this wealth will be spent on eating better, looking better, communicating better, studying better, travelling better and simply living better,” he said.
