Which 2 Banks team up to provide health insurance to Tabora farmers?

Dodoma, Tanzania (CU)_ In an effort to enhance production, NMB Bank and the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) officially launched a combined initiative to financially support the healthcare requirements of the farmers. The initiative was named as the Ushirika Afya Health Insurance Scheme and has an initial budget of Sh5 billion allotted by the bank.

NMB Bank made agreements with two tobacco cooperative unions based in Tabora over the weekend as part of the initiative, allowing cooperative union members to be eligible for the interest-free loans of the banks for health insurance membership. The two organizations involved are the Western Zone Tobacco Growers Co-operative Union Limited (WETCU Limited) and the Mirambo Cooperative Union.
