LONDON (CU)_Meghan Markel and Prince Harry have officially announced their first alleged multi-million pound deal with the American production company Netflix on the Invictus Games, prompting widespread criticism from unhappy fans.

Their decision to use the international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women sparked fury, as many accused them of cashing in on their royal achievements.

“The tragedy is that Invictus shows just how much power Harry and Meghan had to change the world as royals. As private citizens, they’re reduced to making documentaries about the things they did that genuinely made a difference. It’s a bit sad really,” on tweet read.

“Which he wouldn’t have been able to do without his Royal status,” another fumed.

is sad that money has become the couple’s main goal, while a fourth added:  “Harry and Meghan announce first Netflix series after quitting as royals. Pass the bucket!”

The deal, which was reportedly signed last year, is believed to be worth millions. The docuseries will follow athletes from around the world training for the 2022 games which will be held in The Hague.

The programme will be overseen by Archewell Productions, the television arm owned by the couple, and the Duke will star in the series while acting as executive producer as well.

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve,” Prince Harry said in a statement.

“This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year.”

He added that he is excited for Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, and that he is proud of the Invictus community who inspire “global healing, human potential and continued service”.

The announcement of the deal with Netflix follows British broadcaster Piers Morgan’s interview with US news personality Tucker Carlson, during which he criticised the Sussexes for their commercial deals with Spotify and Netflix.

“They’re not making all this money through talent – Meghan was an OK actress on a show not many people watched,” the outspoken journalist claimed.

He did however praise the Duke for his work in the Armed Forces before adding: “What’s happened to that guy? That he’s turned into this whiny brat in his mid-30s complaining his dad isn’t still financing everything he does.”

When inquired what the future holds for Harry, Morgan claimed that the Duchess has “a track record of ditching everyone and everything when they cease to be of use”.

“[…] so my advice to Harry is make sure you remain of use,” he added.
