July is behind the world’s lightest double-wheeled suitcase. It was founded in 2018, by Richard Li and Athan Didaskalou who were seeking to reinvent ‘the wheel’. Now the company has launched a carry-on with a special hidden feature which has fans talking.

“Under the soft-touch handle is an ejectable USB-C battery that charges your phone and laptop. The power bank is allowed anywhere your mobile phone is, approved for any flight in the world,” the July website read. Users say this carry-on has exceeded expectations. “From its inbuilt removable battery to its smooth wheel and secure locks I realised I should have bought this long ago,” one buyer said of the design. “Honestly such a stylish and functional piece of luggage, the glossy green looks as good in real life as it does in the photos. I love the depth of the trunk design and the rechargeable battery is *chefs kiss*,” another buyer added.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when border closures and lockdowns brought travelling to a halt, July saw a brief lull in demand but is now booming once again, having entered the US market as well. Commenting on the name of the brand the founders said: “Everyone always has fun in July when travelling! July is a fun time of year for all to move around, and we wanted that experience to resonate with our products.”
