£853,000 for a nanotechnology facility!

London, United Kingdom (CU)_ For hosting the Multiscale Metrology Suite for Next-Generation Health Nanotechnologies for healthcare applications, Strathclyde University has received a grant of £853,000, to offer researchers with access to equipment for the inspection of materials, aiding the detection of future treatments and diagnostics. Strathclyde University and the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) have jointly invested £1.6 million in the laboratory, which allows for extensive physical and chemical research of prototype technology.

It is complicated and time-consuming to conduct nanotechnology analysis for medical applications since it requires a variety of technologies, usually resulting in delays in the creation of innovative medications or product failure during later phases of clinical trials. The MMS aims to push the boundaries of current technology by allowing several analyses to be performed on the same sample as part of a modular suite that combines the modern detection technologies in a single configuration.
