Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is set to co-host the next season of Junior MasterChef Australia. Channel 10 shared the news. She will join Poh Ling Yeow as a special guest on the 2027 series.
Meghan says she cannot wait to begin. She appeared as a guest judge on the adult version of the show last year. That episode pulled in the biggest Sunday crowd since 2023, according to Paramount ANZ.
Meghan said she loves cooking with her children. She feels it will be fun to see what young cooks can make. It is understood she was not paid for her earlier appearance. Network 10 did not say whether she will be paid.
Her first MasterChef role was revealed during a four-day trip to Australia with Prince Harry in April. On the second day, she was missing from public events. That evening, it emerged she had been filming.
The news arrives at a challenging moment for the duchess. Her father, Thomas Markle, has been accused of child sexual abuse. He denies the claims and calls them lies meant to ruin his name. The BBC understands Meghan cut contact with him last year. It says she told him that she and the authorities knew he had abused young girls.
The Sussexes said in August that they are moving back to the UK from California. They stepped back from royal duties in early 2020. They then settled in California and built careers in media. These included an interview with Oprah Winfrey and deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, ran for two series and a Christmas special. It did not do well with viewers. Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, sells food products. It ended its link with Netflix in March. Last year, her trademark was registered in Australia for many products, such as cookware and table linen.
