LONDON (CU)_Police have responded to security alerts at the California home of Meghan Markel and Prince Harry nine times in as many months. According to Data obtained under Freedom of Information (FOI) laws, authorities responded to calls which were listed as phone requests, property crimes and alarm activations.

The couple moved into the $14m property with their one-year-old son Archie last year, after living in Los Angeles for a few months since the beginning of the pandemic.

The first four calls were received by the officers in early hours of the morning in July last year, and were reportedly listed as alarm activations and phone requests. Subsequently, in August, Sheriff’s deputies were called for what was listed as “Misc Priority Incdnt”, while the Sussexes made another call in November.

FOI data shows Sheriff’s deputies were also called on Christmas Eve and on Boxing Day after a man had alleged trespassed. The Santa Barabara Sheriff’s Department later confirmed that Nickolas Brooks, 37, was caught trespassing on the property and was booked at the county jail after being charged for misdemeanour trespassing.

Records show that the most recent call was made on 16 February, in the early hours of the morning, which was listed as an alarm activation.

The news comes after Prince Harry shared the security concerns he and his family have faced following the couple’s withdrawal from Royal Family duties. During the Sussexes’ bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan said their decision to step back was prompted by the fact that their son would not receive security protection. Meanwhile, Harry claimed that he “never thought” their official security detail would be removed after stepping down.

“I was born into this position. I inherited the risk. So that was a shock to me,” he said.
