OTTAWA (CU)_Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters on Tuesday (18 May) that Quebec can unilaterally modify part of the Canadian Constitution. Last week, the province proposed constitutional reforms, known as Bill 96, which seek to affirm Quebec’s status as a nation and that its official language as French. According to the Prime Minister, following an initial analysis conducted by the federal government, it has been concluded that the province can go ahead with the changes without federal approval.
