Around 16,000 Kenyans have been insured through this partnership

Nairobi, Kenya (CU)_ According to Turaco and M-KOPA, they have insured more than 16,000 Kenyans through their collaboration, with the goal of offering M-KOPA customers and direct sales agents with a safety net against financial crises caused by sudden M-KOPA issues. The two companies teamed up a year ago to offer a bundle of insurance products to M-KOPA customers and direct sales agents that provides nightly payback in the event of hospitalization and pays out to the insured’s nominee if the insured passes away. This policy, known as Hospital Cash & Life Insurance, is supported by Prudential Life Assurance Kenya Ltd., and at present covers more than 16,000 people.

According to M-KOPA, using this finance system, customers can afford health insurance, because they pay for it on a daily basis with their other products rather than making huge annual payments, which is the usual practice in many insurance packages. This is a benefit that direct sales professionals get as part of their job.
