Former Bank of Canada governor under fire

OTTAWA (CU)_During the weeks leading up to the twentieth-September election, former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney campaigned for some Liberal candidates, while he turned down openings to run for the federal Liberals himself on account of his role as a United Nations special envoy on climate action and finance. His responsibilities also include the chairing of Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), commonly known as the net-zero banking alliance, which is aimed at getting the biggest financial institutions in the world to increase their contributions towards achieving net zero emissions by mid-century.
