Ontario, Canada (CU)_ Novari Health recently reported the successful completion of another deployment of its medical imaging referral management solution. St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) is the latest hospital in Canada to adopt Novari’s groundbreaking cloud-based technology. Hundreds of hospitals and regional health authorities throughout Canada are using Novari Health’s creative and distinctive access to care technology.

St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital has begun using the Novari Medical Imaging Requisition Management (MIRM) software. The software as a service (SaaS) technology is being used to manage the processing and operations connected with incoming referrals for medical imaging. However, at the majority of Canadian hospitals, individual workflows for MRI, CT, mammography, nuclear, and other imaging modalities are complicated and still rely on paper for most of their imaging procedures.

Hospitals may customize the workflow features of the Novari MIRM system to support specific workflows for each modality and remove hazards associated with paper-based operations. Novari technology delivers precise and real-time statistics on the amount of requisitions, the condition of each patient’s referral, and system bottlenecks to front-line employees and management.

The Ontario Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, and hospitals around the province have been collaborating to help patients cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. Maintaining an advanced wait-list management and computerized workflow system supports these initiatives for all patients, including patients awaiting surgical consultations, surgery, and other treatments.

Yolanda Mundt, Manager of Diagnostic Imaging at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, expressed delight over the partnership. He said, “The new digital software will allow us to streamline our processes and will reduce wait times for patients. At STEGH, we are always looking for innovative ways to increase efficiency and improve the patient experience. We are pleased to partner with Novari in the launch of this new medical imaging software.”

John Sinclair, President of CPHIMS-CA, spoke about the medical imaging operations. He said, “Medical imaging workflows are complex. The team at STEGH understands these complexities, the benefits of a digital tool and, as demonstrated by this successful go live, how to successfully implement innovative enterprise solutions. Bravo”.
