Mauritius (CU)_  According to Air Mauritius, Mauritius’ national airline, recent announcement on Thursday, it will start operating five weekly flights between Mumbai and Mauritius beginning March 27. The airline stated that it will increase the flight frequency between the two locations. Air Mauritius’ statement follows on the heels of India’s declaration last week that it will restore normal commercial international passenger services beginning 27 March 2022.

Air Mauritius provided more specifics, stating that the airline will fly weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays using the Airbus A330-900neo. The air passengers should be aware that Air Mauritius is presently operating international flights as part of the Air Bubble Arrangements with India, which was established in November 2021.

It is excellent news for Indian air travelers since Mauritius recently eliminated the need for all inbound international tourists to submit a negative PCR test prior to entering the country. Previously, travelers who were completely vaccinated were asked to produce a negative PCR test done within 72 hours of departure. However, Mauritius’ Ministry of Health and Wellness has waived this rule since 12 March 2022. The Mauritius government’s action would make it significantly simpler for business and leisure visitors to visit the nation, and it has been enthusiastically welcomed by the country’s travel and hospitality sectors. The demand from flight passengers and visitors has surged since last October, when Mauritius’ borders were reopened to international travel, coinciding with the lifting of travel restrictions in several major markets of the nation
