Boy, 17, shot dead by police

PUERTO RICO – there has been a trend of unspoken racism in the last few years that the media is finally paying some attention to. Most often than not people of color and religious minority will always be subject to some form racist behaviour by a very small sector of people.

But this being said it does not mean every shooting is racially provoked some shootings and apprehends are actually needed to maintain law and order.  In this case it was not a racially biased shooting the police were actually trying to stop a crime from taking place.

A 17-year-old man has been shot dead by police in San Juan.

Reports indicate that the Police Command Centre received a report of men setting fire to a house at the corner of First Street and First Avenue, San Juan. Upon arrival, police found the bottom part of the house in flames and the assailants attempted to make their escape.

The officers gave chase and one of the assailants allegedly shot at the police. Police returned fire and the boy was shot.

He was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The deceased was later identified as De Andre Henry.
