New York, USA (CU)_ According to the Swiss-based financial firm, Naureen Hassan, a notable Indian-American finance expert, has been appointed the President of UBS Americas and Chief Executive Officer of UBS Americas Holding. According to the media statement from UBS Americas, Hassan is presently serving as the first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank New York (FRBNY). She will also serve on the Executive Board of UBS Group.
According to the media statement issued by the Zurich and Basel-based corporation, Hassan will succeed Tom Naratil as CEO in October of this year. UBS Group AG is a global investment bank and provider of financial services that is headquartered in Switzerland. The corporation maintains its presence in almost all the top financial centers as the leading Swiss banking institution and the biggest private bank in the world, with co-headquarters in Zurich and Basel.

In October 2022, she will join the Group Executive Board of UBS. This week, Hassan resigned from her position as First Vice-President and Chief Operating Executive at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she served as the second-ranking officer at the New York Fed. Hassan’s parents are native Indians belonging to Kerala. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
Hassan, who is a native of India, has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry with high skills in strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and regulatory/risk management. While announcing her retirement from The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Hassan said, “I have been so impressed with the incredible commitment of New York Fed employees and the great work that they do. It has been a privilege for me to have served alongside such dedicated public servants and to have contributed to the Bank’s mission.”
