Pakistan commences Platinum Jubilee Independence Day sporting events!

Karachi, Pakistan (CU)_ Ahead of the Platinum Jubilee Independence Day on August 14, Pakistan has planned for a series of events and initiatives across the nation. Accordingly, under the sponsorship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan’s Platinum Jubilee Independence Day festivities will begin today with the Independence Day Walk. Commissioner of Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon announced the news during a meeting with sports organizers in his office.

The event was also attended by a number of distinguished guests and senior officials including Additional Commissioner Karachi Dadlu Zahrani, Assistant Commissioner Abid Qamar Sheikh, Coordinator of Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Naveed Alam, Danish Khan, Abdul Razzaq Baloch, M Akhlaq, Shahzad Alam, and Asad Ibad Ali Khan.

According to Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon, the Sindh government and particularly CM Sindh have a genuine desire to celebrate Pakistan’s platinum jubilee year in a historically significant manner, and that he will realize his desire by hosting a number of events in the city in a manner that will set a precedent. He guaranteed the organizer of these sporting events of his unwavering support. He added, “I also assure all the organizers that the Karachi administration will hold competitions of karate, boxing, gymnastic and cycling on Defense Day, where the youth will be engaged in healthy activities and provided a platform to exhibit their prowess and win laurels and good prize money for them”.

In the meantime, the organizers of the sports event thanked the Commissioner of Karachi. They said, “We will try to organize the sports event in a befitting manner and try to fully facilitate the sportspersons, so that they may give their best performances and excel at higher level.” Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon concluded by thanking Bank Islami President Syed Amir Ali and the bank’s management for backing this festival and expressed hopes that more generous sponsors will volunteer to contribute their part in the promotion and improvement of sports in Karachi.
