Around 45 data centers with a combined 13 million square feet and 1,015 MW of IT capacity are expected to be built in India by 2025. This has anything to do with the rising demand. By the end of 2025, there will be 183 data centers in the nation with a combined 24 million square feet and 1,752 MW of total IT capacity.

Mumbai and Chennai together account for at least 57 percent of this existing IT capability. India’s data center market is currently worth roughly $5.6 billion and is only expected to expand. As of FY 2025, the nation’s total anticipated demand for data centers is anticipated to reach 2,100 MW, with a mix of hyperscalers and businesses “Devi Shankar, President of Industrial, Logistics, and Data Centers at ANAROCK Capital was quoted by IANS as stating. According to the analysis, India has the potential for an extra 2,688 MW of future unexpected supply. The paper noted that although DC operators had secured the land for this supply, future developments would likely be planned dependent on actual demand and/or outcome of earlier scheduled phases. The majority of this unplanned IT capacity about 78% will be based in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Particularly in Asia Pacific and India, data centers are presently a focal point for many decisions, according to Jeff Binwanger, managing partner of Binswanger. While 30% of businesses are considering hybrid hosting services (Cloud + data center) for data management, 72% of professionals have seen data spikes in their organizations after COVID-19.
