INDIA – since one can remember travel insurance has always been around. It came about when the industry saw a need for it as people still had bad luck sometimes when they were traveling. But the industry has grown in leaps and bounds and so has its insurance. There was a time when you had to actually go to an agent or phone someone to book a holiday but now you can do it from the touch of a button online. Which is the same with travel insurance. They have made it so easy you can now do it online in a fraction of the time it would have taken than actually going to visit an agent.
This comes from the online platform Insurtech which was built by the firm InsuranceDekho. They started small but now keep broadening their products and services to suit every need. To provide travel insurance products, InsuranceDekho has partnered with HDFC Ergo, Reliance General, Care, ICICI Lombard, and Bajaj Allianz, and is currently in the process of forming relationships with additional insurers.
The platform has covered over 198 countries and are adding more as time goes by. The pricing starts at Rs. 552 in the offer curated travel plans for family, individual, corporate or students. The subject of terms and conditions may vary from insurer to insurer. The policy covers a wide range of areas but depends on the plan you choose. However, almost all of them include important covers like loss of passport, flight delay, loss of checked-in baggage, emergency medical expenses, medical evacuation, among others, said the firm.
