Chennai, India (CU)_ South actor Surya completed 25 years in the film industry. He recently marked the 25th anniversary of his debut film Nerrukku Ner. The actor also thanked his fans and followers for their love and support throughout the years. Surya, whose Tamil filmography includes Nandha, Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini, the Singam trilogy and others, shared a simple message on Twitter to commemorate the occasion. He expressed pride over the accomplishment. He tweeted, “Truly a beautiful and blessed 25 years..! Dream and believe..! Your suriya (sic)”.
Suriya, one of the industry’s best performers, was introduced in the Tamil film Nerukku Ner in 1997. To date, he has appeared in nearly 50 films. The actor has also demonstrated his versatility through diverse characters. He has played the roles of lover boy, an army officer, a mobster, and other popular characters and has nailed each of these roles.
Suriya produced 36 Vayadhinile in 2015, which was the first film produced by his 2D Entertainment production firm. The film is a women-centric family drama starring his wife Jyothika and a regular co-star. He has also acted in some of the most popular films like Soorarai Pottru (2020) and Jai Bhim (2021), and won the National Film Award for the best actor for Soorarai Pottru.
In June, Suriya was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the 95th Academy Awards, along with 397 other notable cinema figures. His most recent works include Vikram and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Suriya’s current projects are Vetrimaaran’s Vaadi Vaasal and Bala’s Vanangaan, produced by him. In the meantime, actor Karthi congratulated his brother Suriya on his 25 years in the film industry.
