SOUTH AFRICA (COMMONWEALTH UNION) – when it comes to women and the way they have fought for their place in the world, just one day an year is not enough to celebrate the small wins and the big wins that the female gender has won since the beginning of time.

The world has evolved over the years but it seems like women are still having a little situation of gender discrimination going. But the difference is the fight for equality is still going strong and the younger generations of women are bold!

It seems that since we have claimed that a day is not enough to celebrate all our wins big or small there is now a globally recognized women’s week. Now Universal women’s a week is a celebration of women by women for women.

This week is dedicated to women everywhere not only in gender but to anyone who identifies as female which makes this an inclusive week. A safe week for women to celebrate. In this week women everywhere celebrate each other as well as the progress of the cause we as women are a part of.

This week as we celebrate and advocate for the women who need it we also make it a week of education. Where younger generations are taught that this fight has been happening since the beginning of time and will probably go on for a few more decades before we can achieve equality for our gender.

We teach young girls that there is nothing wrong in wanting more. We teach you girls that it is perfectly fine to swim against the tide and to pursue their dreams. We teach young girls that they should fight for what they want.

This week is a celebration and we are all a part of this.
