Sri Lanka (Commonwealth Union)_ Port City Colombo (PCC), Sri Lanka’s most ambitious integrated development project and the nation’s inaugural foreign currency designated Special Economic Zone exclusively dedicated to service exports, has taken a momentous stride in cultivating stronger bonds between the business communities of Thailand and Sri Lanka. Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially executed between Port City Colombo and the Thai-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce (TSLCC) in the bustling city of Bangkok, Thailand.

The signing of this MoU signifies a crucial moment in bolstering bilateral trade and investment prospects between Sri Lanka and Thailand, with Port City Colombo serving as the focal point for this collaborative endeavor. The primary aim of this agreement is to facilitate and enhance cooperation, providing a conducive platform for business development and partnership between the two nations. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished representatives from both entities. Port City Colombo was represented by Yang Lu, Managing Director; Thulci Aluwihare, Deputy Managing Director; Stan Li, General Manager of Investment Promotions and Marketing; Radika Obeyesekere, Director of Investment Promotions and Marketing; and Sarayut Leklipol, CHEC (Thai) Company Ltd. Director of Investment.

On the other hand, TSLCC was represented by Dilan Samarakoon, TSLCC General Secretary and Siam Success Solutions Co Ltd. Managing Director; Lal Silva, TSLCC Treasurer and K. Square Co Ltd. Director; Wichak Suawancharoen, TSLCC Executive Director and Kama Joint Ventures Co Ltd. Executive Director; Chanin Winayanuwattikun, AMCHAM Thailand Business Economics Committee Leader and Bank of America Vice President Corporate Banking; Shiran Madhawa, TSLCC Trade Subcommittee Member and ASL Logistics Co. Ltd Director; Sisira Mendis, TSLCC Trade Subcommittee Leader/ Past President and Bhagya Enterprises Co Ltd. Managing Director; and Faiz Mohammed, TSLCC Member and Rockers Auto Import Managing Director.

Further, both parties also expressed unwavering commitment to exploring avenues for mutual development, trade expansion, and investment promotion.
