This year marks the 40th anniversary of Chevening awards. Over 2,000 Pakistani since 1983 have been awarded Chevening scholarships and fellowships.

Chevening is UK’s global scholarship programme, which allows outstanding emerging leaders to follow one-year master’s degree in any subject and at any UK university. Pakistan has many notable Chevening alumni, including Justice Athar Minnalah of the Supreme Court, actor and caretaker Federal Minister Jamal Shah, sports journalist Roha Nadeem and Sonia Shamroz the first ever women to be appointed as the police chief of a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The scholarships are fully funded, including visas, flights, accommodations, fees and some money for spending. For Chevening scholarships applications are open in the UK from 12th of September to the 7th of November. Applications can be made on the Chevening website www.chevening.org.
