Sri Lanka (Commonwealth Union)_ SriLankan Airlines earned a coveted distinction as the Leading International Airline – South Asia at the esteemed South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) held in Bangalore, India. This was not the sole feather in their cap; the airline also clinched the title of Leading Airline Class – Business Class during the ceremony. The SATA awards, renowned as the preeminent accolades within the travel industry across the region, bestow recognition upon outstanding performers in South Asia’s travel and hospitality sectors. These distinctions are conferred based on votes cast by industry professionals and passengers, further underscoring the significance of this achievement.
Having previously received the ‘Visitors Choice – Airline of the Year’ accolade at the preceding SATA awards, SriLankan Airlines continues to affirm its eminent status in South Asia with this year’s dual victories. The airline currently operates a comprehensive network of 140 weekly flights connecting Colombo to a multitude of cities in South Asia, covering destinations in India, the Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
