Hotels (Commonwealth Union) _ Apex Hotels, an independent hospitality company, has embarked on a £2.9 million renovation project to enhance its Grassmarket hotel in Edinburgh. The refurbishment includes the transformation of 122 bedrooms and corridors, along with the addition of three new rooms through the conversion of a former meeting space. As part of its commitment to sustainability, the hotel has also upgraded all room and corridor lighting to energy-efficient LED bulbs, aligning with its goal of achieving net zero emissions.

The investment reflects the Springford family’s deep commitment to the hotel, which holds historical significance as the inaugural property acquired by Norman Springford for Apex Hotels in 1996. With nine properties spanning the UK, including key locations such as London, Bath, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Pitlochry, Apex Hotels maintains a steadfast dedication to expanding its presence while prioritizing the enrichment of guest experiences.

Ronnie MacKay, the cluster general manager for Edinburgh, conveyed his excitement about the renovation project, emphasizing the hotel’s prime location in the heart of Grassmarket in Edinburgh’s Old Town. With its breathtaking panoramic views of Edinburgh Castle and the city, Apex City of Edinburgh continues to be a highly desirable destination for travelers seeking an unforgettable stay in Scotland’s capital.

Apex Hotels collaborated with Ian Springford Architects for design consultancy and enlisted CLC Group as the lead contractor to oversee the renovation works, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the project. Michael Stott, commercial director of Apex Hotels, emphasized the company’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of guests and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. The investment in the Grassmarket hotel reflects Apex Hotels’ confidence in Edinburgh as a thriving tourist destination and its ongoing efforts to provide exceptional accommodation experiences for visitors.Top of Form
