A helpline in Sri Lanka by Apollo Hospitals to assist patients and doctors

Sri Lanka (Commonwealth Union)_ The Apollo Hospitals Group, Afro-Asia’s leading private sector integrated healthcare provider, has announced a Sri Lankan hotline number (+94 77 36 79 122; +94 77 75 28 588; +94 77 77 19 558). Sri Lankan Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella made the announcement and explained that the helpline number gives patients and doctors easy access to the extensive library of medical resources available at Apollo Hospitals as well as to Med Connect staff.

The minister emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in healthcare, especially in the face of the rising prevalence of noncommunicable diseases and the challenges posed by the pandemic. He stated that the government would support initiatives that provide more opportunities for Indian and Sri Lankan medical personnel to collaborate.

In a special message, Apollo Hospitals Group President Dr. K. Hariprasad expressed his appreciation to Rambukwella and stated that the organization is delighted to introduce this hotline number in Sri Lanka. He added that they also value the 35-year relationship with Sri Lanka and look forward to enhancing clinical collaboration with the healthcare community and institutions in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Nilmini Withana, the Apollo Hospitals Sri Lanka Representative, explained that the hotline was established to connect the two countries and make it easier for patients and physicians to access medical resources. She also disclosed that Apollo and the Sri Lankan medical community maintain close ties and that they are planning a number of health awareness campaigns in the coming months. Vice President of Apollo Hospitals’ International Division Jithu Jose introduced the ‘Helpline’ and thanked the Minister on behalf of the organization.
