UK (Commonwealth) _ The International Accounting Awards in London have awarded ACCA the Professional Body of the Year. This was hosted by the International Accounting Bulletin publishers each year. This year’s assessors noted ACCA’s expansion, member and student support, and opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

All of the work that ACCA has done on sustainability over the past year was highlighted prominently in their entry. Additionally, the ESG/Sustainability Initiative of the Year shortlist was also took into consideration.

The ACCA was chosen as the Digital Accountancy Awards’ professional body of the year. The award honors ACCA’s 2025 plan, its ongoing and heightened emphasis on the employability and well-being of its members and students, as well as its handling of COVID-19 as well as remote monitoring.

The judges declared: “ACCA has a significant impact on the accountancy sector as well as other domains, such as business and finance, government, and society at large.” The ACCA study, “Professional accountants at the heart of sustainable organizations,” was also mentioned by the judges in the prize citation.

“We’ve all contributed to the achievement of this award, which is a testament to the impact ACCA is making,” ACCA UK’s head, Claire Bennison, stated.

Accounting businesses, regulators and industry groups, consultancies and consultants, legal firms, and digital suppliers get together annually for the Digital Accountancy Forum and Awards to discuss the major issues affecting the accountancy profession and the potential prospects they provide. The prize was first awarded by ACCA in 2016.

With the announcement of its most recent membership numbers of 252,500, ACCA now boasts more than a quarter of a million members. Additionally, we have over 526,000 prospective members.

Just seven years ago, we celebrated reaching 200,000 members. Based on our latest statistics, ACCA’s membership has increased by almost 26% since 2017. This November, we also commemorate our 120th anniversary.

“We’re honored to have such a large number of gifted and devoted members worldwide.” inclusive line of work. Chief executive Helen Brand remarked, “We’re proud to have so many talented and committed members around the world pursuing successful careers and making such a positive impact.”

“We envision ourselves as leaders of an inclusive profession in a transformed world where individuals from diverse backgrounds are united by a universal code of conduct.” Bound by an international code of ethics and dedicated to advancing their knowledge constantly in order to satisfy changing demands.

Ronnie Patton, president of ACCA, commended the accomplishment’s size and scope. “It speaks volumes about how we draw so many people to become part of our global community,” he remarked.

We have members in 180 countries who work and live. This indicates that ACCA’s voice is heard on every continent and that our members’ beneficial effect is felt everywhere. For this reason, we are honored to commemorate today not just the number of members but also their influence and contributions.

I was forced to consider this after learning this month that ACCA had achieved the amazing milestone of having a quarter of a million members. Despite the number’s astounding and astonishing magnitude, its meaning is much more profound. It is a testament to the extent of our global influence.

It also demonstrates how relevant our mission—to provide the accounting profession the world needs—is now more than ever before and how desirable our core principles of honesty, creativity, and inclusivity are becoming. A new generation is coming up who thinks that becoming an accountant or ACCA is a great way to start a good, fulfilling profession.

In this year of commemorating our own 120th anniversary, it proves beyond any doubt that ACCA is a forward-thinking, innovative, and contemporary company. Our members are capable of meeting the more demanding standards.

Our members are capable of meeting the more complex demands and expectations placed on them by society and companies. All of us are adjusting to new priorities in a world that has changed, learning how to deal with the effects of climate change, the advancement of technology, and shifting goals at work.

We frequently discuss taking down fictitious obstacles to membership. Since ACCA was established on the ideals of inclusivity, we have been pleased to have 180 nations on six continents as members, with approximately half of them being women. We still find it vital that the certification be available to everyone, regardless of background or location, just as we did 120 years ago.
