Aptera claims new EV doesn’t need charging

California, USA (CWBN)_ Aptera has produced a new electric, solar vehicle that at least most drivers will never need charging.  They claim that their top model outfitted with a 100-kWh battery can reach up to 1,000 miles of range.

The new three-wheeled, two-seater vehicle design accommodates a solar roof array that can provide up to 45 miles of range per day. Thus the 1,000-mile range seems feasible if you have the highest model and you add the charges from the solar panels when parked.

In a press release, Chris Anthony, co-founder of Aptera when on to say “With Aptera’s Never Charge technology, you are driven by the power of the sun. Our built-in solar array keeps your battery pack topped off and anywhere you want to go, you just go,”. He continued to say that “Never Charge is built into every Aptera and is designed to harvest enough sunlight to travel over 11,000 miles per year in most regions.”

The vehicle appears to be light-weight and curved from the images and specifications sheet. It boasts a lesser drag-coefficient of 0.13 relative to the Tesla Model 3 drag- coefficient of 0.23. furthermore, the Its front-wheel-drive vehicle achieve zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, while the three-wheel drive model can reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

Pre-orders are now open for the Paradigm and Paradigm Plus models with a refundable $100 deposit. The price will be between $25,900 and $46,000 and higher for customizable cars, which will be delivered by the firm in 2021.
