As logistical help for the general elections, India presents 200 cars to Nepal

India (Commonwealth Union)_ On Tuesday, India gave 200 cars to the Nepalese government as logistical help to different Nepali institutions for the smooth running of the general elections on November 20.

According to a press release from the Indian Embassy, the cars were requested by Nepal, which is holding elections for the federal Parliament and the provincial assemblies on November 20. In a ceremony held at the Ministry of Finance, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava presented Finance Minister Janardan Sharma with 200 automobiles as a gift for providing logistical help to various Nepali institutions for the successful conduct of elections.

The cars will be helpful in further enhancing the logistical plans put in place by various Nepali institutions around the nation to conduct the elections. While giving the minister the keys to the cars, the ambassador remarked: “I hope that these vehicles would help in organising electoral events by the Nepal government.”

He also prayed for the elections in Nepal to be held in a fair and prosperous manner. The Ambassador said: “I express my hopes that the Nepal government will be able to conduct the elections effectively on behalf of the government and the people of Nepal.” The Finance Minister thanked the Indian government and people for continuing to help Nepal via development collaborations, including the donation of these cars.

At the government of the Himalayan nation’s request, India provided Nepal with vehicles during earlier elections. More than 2,400 cars, including around 2,000 for the Nepal Police and Armed Police Forces and about 400 for the Nepalese Army and Election Commission, have reportedly been donated to a number of Nepalese organizations to help them during elections.

The closeness of the two nations’ populations is reflected in the multifaceted and multisectoral development relationship that exists between India and Nepal. According to a news statement from the Indian Embassy, the extension of these logistical support services shows the Indian government’s continuous commitment to promoting the growth of people-to-people connections.
