Further, a significant investment has also been made in the aviation sector, contributing to its growth and progress. The event was presided over by the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, with the attendance of several other dignitaries, including State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharjee; Major General (Retd) Prof Dr Md Nasir Uddin MP; Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP; and Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain.

Earlier, Mahbub Ali also expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s aviation sector will witness a threefold expansion within the next 15 years. He attributed this remarkable growth to timely infrastructural development, progress in technical and human skills, and the formulation of progressive laws and policies in the aviation industry, all inspired by the visionary directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Over the past decade, Bangladesh’s aviation market has witnessed nearly a double growth. To maintain this impressive growth and contribute significantly to the country’s economy, the state minister emphasized the necessity of promoting a larger number of trained and skilled aviation professionals.

Further, the government has also taken a number of initiatives to meet the rising demand for skilled manpower in the sector. Notably, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has launched the “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Next Generation Aviation Professionals (NGAP) Scholarship” to promote the development of trained women pilots, showcasing the government’s commitment to inclusivity and gender diversity in the field.
